The system is centralised wherein the solar panels, battery, solar charge controller, inverter etc. are installed at one suitable shade free and safe location. Cables are run to individual streetlight poles.
Only the solar panels of the solar power pack need be installed in a clear shade free area. The streetlights can be installed / located anywhere.
The streetlights operate on an inverter. This facilitates operation of a wide range of lamps – CFL, MV, SV, HID etc.
When sunlight is inadequate and/or batteries are discharged, battery charging is supported by mains supply and load is transferred to mains supply. Thus uninterrupted operation of the load is ensured.
